Dear New Hampshire Highways Readers:
A huge shoutout from the Board of Directors to all our members and friends who showed up in style for the Equipment Showcase Open — you brought the energy, and wow, did it show! We lucked out with two awesome days of sunshine, connection, and a little friendly competition. And for the first time in years — no rain! The vibe was easygoing, the turnout was fantastic, and the networking? Absolutely on fire.
Friday’s tournament was a blast — seventy teams strong! Thirty-six at Beaver Meadow and thirty-four at Canterbury Woods. We had everything from serious competitors to folks who
were clearly just in it for the sunshine and laughs. No matter the skill level, the atmosphere was electric, and the camaraderie was contagious.
Big high-fives to everyone who jumped into the contests and raffles — you helped raise over $3,000 for the New Hampshire Good Roads Construction Scholarship. That’s not just a number — that’s real support making a difference for students year after year. Want to learn more or apply for 2026? Head over to nhgoodroads.org and get inspired! Plus, you crushed it again, with another $3,000 raised for our Workforce Development Committee. You are all seriously the MVPs.
Now let’s talk about what’s next. Mark your calendar for the Fall Social on November 8 at the Sheraton Portsmouth Harborside Hotel. This year we’re going full-on retro — think neon, shoulder pads, boomboxes, and all the rad vibes of the 1980s. It’s going to be totally tubular, and yes, the networking will be just as strong as the theme. Details and registration are available at nhgoodroads.org or you can always give Brenda a call at 603.224.1823.
And don’t forget — we’ll close out the year with our Holiday Social on December 11. Check out the website for details, but trust me, you’ll want to be there. It’s the perfect way to wrap up the season surrounded by good people and good cheer. Thank you again for bringing your energy, spirit, and support — it’s what keeps this organization thriving.
Cheers,
Will Hess
President
